As many solutions as there are opinions
MANCHESTER — Everyone in New England seems to be an expert on two subjects — management of the Boston Red Sox and what's wrong with traffic.
New Hampshire Union Leader readers have chipped in with suggestions of their own for improving some of the area's more persistent traffic problems:
“Stoplight timing at Queen City Ave. and Second Street needs to be adjusted to stop cars from blocking the intersection. I have seen the light change two and three times and the ramp traffic never moves.” — C.P.
“Close off access to Hayward and Wayland streets from Mammoth Road and change the angle of Candia Road so that it directly intersects with Massabesic and you only need one set of lights instead of two.”— S.V.
“Add a left turn lane for northbound traffic at South Main and Milford streets. Traffic gets blocked on a regular basis when someone wants to turn left and they can't because of traffic.”— S.V.
“I hate more lights, but something needs to be done about the Exit 4 off-ramp from 293 to Second and Harvel streets.”— S.D.
“The on/off ramp at Exit 6 is dangerous. Too many merges on the loop.” — D.S.
“Signs need to be better placed at Lakeside Drive and Bypass 28 and enforcement needs to step up on the trucks illegally parked.” — T.B.
“The intersection of Bremer Street and Coolidge Avenue on the West Side really needs to be a four-way stop. The one thing that might remind drivers to slow down is Phaneuf's Funeral Home on the corner.” — J.B.
“I hope Bridge Street will get a middle turning lane, it's a busy street with tons of schools surround it and people trying to get onto it, it's crazy all the time.”— K.R.
