Sean Ochinko picked up his first RBI since returning from the disabled list on Saturday night, but the visiting New Hampshire Fisher Cats (36-57) couldn’t handle Portland righthander Stolmy Pimentel in a 9-1 loss at Hadlock Field.

The defeat is the fifth straight for the Fisher Cats heading into their series finale with the Sea Dogs (40-54) this afternoon.

Portland slugged 18 hits on the night, led by Marquez Smith with four hits and two runs scored.

Catcher Dan Butler went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for Portland. Peter Hissey drove in two and and Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a two-run homer for the Sea Dogs. Eight of the nine Portland starters had hits.

Pimentel began the game with five perfect innings before Ochinko and friends finally got a base runner in the top of the sixth.

Brad Glenn broke up the no-hitter bid with an infield single, taking third base on a double by Kenen Bailli. Ochinko then plated Glenn with a groundout to third for the Fisher Cats only run.

While the Fisher Cats struggled with the bats again, the Sea Dogs had no such problem against Chad Jenkins, who took the loss.

After throwing three scoreless innings to begin the game, Jenkins was touched up for four runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth. A two-run homer pushed the lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth. Ronald Uviedo relieved Jenkins in the sixth, but didn’t fare much better, allowing three runs in his lone inning.

Jenkins fell to 4-9 with the loss, giving up six runs (five earned) over five innings. He surrendered 13 hits, the fourth straight outing in which he’s allowed the opposition to reach double digits in the hits column.

Pimentel completed seven innings, giving up a run on two hits with one walk. He improved to 3-1 against the Fisher Cats, accounting for all three of his wins on the season.

The Fisher Cats will try to salvage the series finale Sunday at 1 p.m.

Right-hander Ryan Tepera returns to the Fisher Cats to make his first AA start since May. He’ll face lefty Chris Hernandez (4-7, 3.10).
