Kids, parent homeless after Nashua kitchen fire

NASHUA - Two children and a parent have been displaced after a small kitchen fire Monday at a multi-family dwelling at 119 Lock St.

Fire crews responded to the fire around 7:15 a.m., at which time all the occupants of the apartment unit had already been evacuated, according to assistant chief Steven Galipeau of Nashua Fire Rescue.

The fire was located in apartment 15 and was knocked down quickly, said Galipeau, explaining much of the damage was contained to the kitchen.

At this point, the fire does not appear suspicious, but it is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office.

The cause of the fire had not yet been determined by Monday afternoon. No one was injured battling the blaze.

Two children, 5 and 6, along with an adult, were displaced because of the fire. The American Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to provide immediate assistance and lodging for the family.
