MILFORD — Police are still investigating Lorinda White's death and are awaiting reports from the state medical examiner's office before releasing new details. Last week, Milford police Capt. Chris Nervik confirmed that the body found behind Jacques Memorial School on Aug. 10 was that of White.

White disappeared from her home on Sunday, Aug. 5, after her boyfriend, William Pillsbury, said she began acting strangely and doing things that were out of character. It's still not clear how White died, or whether there was foul play in her death, but police have said that they don't believe there's any reason for concern about public safety.

White, 51, who was born in Manchester and grew up in Amherst, will be honored during a service at the Milford United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

According to her obituary on Smith and Heald Funeral Home's website, White graduated from Milford Area High School in 1978 and from York County Community College in Maine. She worked at the House by the Side of the Road, a greenhouse and nursery in Wilton, for the past five years, but in the past also worked for Hendrix Wire and Cable and New Hampshire Community College in Manchester.

White will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Milford at 2:30 on Wednesday.

On Monday afternoon, Pillsbury responded strongly to reports that he was not invited to the memorial service, saying that stories in the local newspaper were “distorted” and did not accurately reflect what he said.

“I want to wait for the coroner's report to come out so that I can finally have some peace,” he said. “Until the real story comes out, people are going to spread rumors. That's just what people do.”

But Pillsbury would not say whether he had been invited to the memorial service. He did, however, express displeasure that his name had not been mentioned in White's obituary.

“If Lorinda was standing here right now, she'd be so angry,” he said. “But I don't want to talk about this anymore now. My heart's had enough. I just need some peace and I don't have that right now.”
