Epping man waives hearing in ex-wife's murder

BRENTWOOD - An Epping man accused of killing his ex-wife, whose body was found inside a burning concrete plant in Exeter, has waived his probable cause hearing and will remain held without bail.

Aaron Desjardins, 36, of 67 Railroad Ave., was scheduled to appear in the 10th Circuit Court, Brentwood District Division, on Friday, but a court clerk said he waived his right to the hearing, meaning the case will now be sent to the Rockingham County Superior Court for possible grand jury indictment.

Desjardins was arrested March 12 and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Amanda "Amy" Warf. The 36-year-old Hampton woman, who divorced Desjardins a year ago, was found dead on the morning of March 7 when firefighters arrived to battle a fire reported on the second floor of the vacant City Concrete factory on Hampton Road.

Desjardins is accused of slitting Warf's throat. He has not been charged with arson, though prosecutors said the state Fire Marshal's Office determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Warf worked as a financial consultant at Exeter Hospital in an office building located just around the corner from the concrete plant.

Desjardins maintained his innocence in an interview with the New Hampshire Union Leader a few days before his arrest. He claimed he was at home with his new wife, his sister, and his young son on the morning of the murder.

Desjardins remains held at the Rockingham County jail in Brentwood.
