NH College Roundup: Evans in Pats' rookie camp

According to a report on ESPNBoston.com, former University of New Hampshire linebacker Matt Evans is among the players at the New England Patriots' rookie minicamp this weekend.

Evans, a Hanover, Mass., native, is one of five former UNH players to have his number retired, joining running back Bill Burnham, running back Jerry Azumah, wide receiver David Ball and quarterback Ricky Santos.

"To be out there on the field with the Patriots' logo obviously means a lot to him," Evans' agent Abu Toppin told ESPNBoston.com. "It's been a lifelong dream of Matt's to have this opportunity."

Earlier this week Evans accepted an offer to attend the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp later this month.

Evans led the Colonial Athletic Association with 126 tackles during his senior season. He also led the nation with 87 solo tackles.

Dartmouth 0/6, Penn 1/2: At Philadelphia, the Big Green used back-to-back home runs from Katie Adams and Kathy Dzienkowski to prevail in the second game of Saturday's Ivy League Championship Series doubleheader.

The victory forces a decisive third game today to determine the 2013 Ivy League Championship. The Quakers won the first game, 1-0.

Men's lacrosse

Keene State 19, Plymouth State 9: At Keene, the Owls reached the Little East Conference Championship game for the 10th time in the last 11 years with this victory on Friday.

Top-seeded Keene State (14-2) has won its last eight games and will take on longtime rival Eastern Conn. State University in today's championship game (1 p.m.) at Owl Athletic Complex.

The second seeded Warriors (9-7) advanced to the finals with a 23-4 win over sixth seed Western Conn. in the other semifinal game.

Women's lacrosse

Albany 13, UNH 6: At Stony Brook, N.Y., Laura McHoul recorded five points, but UNH's season came to an end following Friday's loss in the America East semifinals.

UNH, the No. 3 seed, completed its season with a 6-11 overall record.

Second-seeded Albany advanced to play top-seeded Stony Brook in today's championship game.
