The Flume Gorge is one of America's top ten most beautiful State Parks. A natural chasm takes visitors from the Flume Visitor Center on wide gravel paths and wooden walkways through covered bridges, past waterfalls and through the 800-foot long gorge with its sheer 90-foot walls. Scenic pools, glacial boulders, and mountain views. Free 15-minute movie at the Information Center provides an introduction to Franconia Notch State Park. While you are in Franconia Notch State Park, be sure to stop by the Basin and the Old Man of the Mountain Museum. In 2007, admission to the Flume Gorge was $10 for adults. It remains to be seen if that price will stay the same. But where else can you spend the entire day for that kind of dough?

Visit the replica of the fortified village of No. 4, which, in 1740, was the most northwestern settlement in New England. Costumed staff bring to life the rich history of the Connecticut River Valley and Township No. 4 during the 1740s and 1750s. Daily demonstrations, special events, workshops, and children's programs offered during the summer. Admission is only $8 for adults and you're in like Flynn!

Built by a Native American Culture or a migrant European population? No one knows for sure. A maze of man-made chambers, walls and ceremonial meeting places, America's Stonehenge is most likely the oldest man-made construction in the United States (over 4000 years old).

Like Stonehenge in England, America's Stonehenge was built by ancient people well versed in astronomy and stone construction. It has been determined that the site is an accurate astronomical calendar. It was, and still can be, used to determine specific solar and lunar events of the year. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the 105 acres of woodlands and wildlife at America's Stonehenge. One thing you won't have to wonder about: Where your money disappeared to. Admission to America's Stonehenge is only $9.50 for adults.

The Wright Museum is a one-of-a-kind non-profit institution dedicated to teaching present and future generations about the significant and lasting impact the years 1939-1945 had on the United States and the world.

There are three distinct buildings: the Home Front and theater, the two-story educational building or Visitor's Center and the military building which houses memorabilia from all branches of service from WWII including a large collection of military vehicles from this era. It is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and the parking lots have ample space for tour buses. The museum can be booked for special presentations. Allow between one and two hours to tour the museum and still have time to peruse the gift shop. While you are there, be sure to explore the town of Wolfeboro, the oldest summer resort in America. You'll find beautiful views of Lake Winnipesaukee, and it will only cost you $6 for adult admission to the Wright Museum.

Hampton Beach, known for its wide and miles long expanse of super clean beach, also boasts a summer full of seaside activities. There's a fully supervised playground as well as arcades and waterslides and opportunities to enjoy a day of deep-sea fishing, whale watching, parasailing or jet skiing. Band concerts, featuring some of the area's top show bands, are held twice a night, seven days a week in the summer at the Sea Shell Stage. Fireworks are held every Wednesday night throughout the summer and during special events and holidays. Walk the boardwalk, bake in the sun and take a dip in the Atlantic, all for the price of parking. But don't use the meters. Instead, we suggest the park and walk strategy. There are several parking lots nearby. It'll cost you between $5-10 and save you a lot of heartache.

The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum Education and Cultural Center is situated on 100 acres of field, wetlands and forest and lies at the foot of Mt. Kearsarge, the home of Rollins State Park, and a popular hiking mountain known for one of the most spectacular views in New England.

A non-profit organization, the museum is dedicated to increasing the public awareness of Native American traditions, philosophy and art. Come for a guided tour of the Exhibit Hall and its wonderful artifacts. In addition to a tour, visit the Museum Store, the Dreamcatcher, a destination in itself.

You can also walk along the 2 1/2 acre outdoor living museum, where you will learn the many ways the American Indians use plants for medicines, dyes, food and building materials. You'll even save a tree: Admission is only $8.50 for adults.
