Name and date established: Pinkham's Grant 1963

Description: Darby Field, a New Hampshire settler, accomplished this feat in 1642 from a southerly approach. Partly guided by Indians and with only primitive equipment at his disposal, he is thus alleged to be the originator of all Mount Washington ascensions.

Location: Located on the east side of Route 16 just north of the Jackson-Pinkham's Grant boundary line.
