2008 Granite State Olympians

New Hampshire has a history of producing amazing Olympians. This summer, there is only one woman on the U.S. Team from the Granite State. She goes to Beijing, China with aspirations of winning a gold medal for her country and bragging rights to the title "Best in the World" for 2008.

Dow made it into the Olympics by winning a 20-kilometer race walk at the United States Olympic field trials in Eugene, Oregon on July 6, 2008. She's been training for the Olympics for almost 14 years. She beat out her biggest competitor, Teresa Vaill, who is an American Record Holder, to earn her spot. Her winning time was 1 hour, 35 minutes and 11 seconds.
