More about Dixville Notch:
Known as the first place in the nation from which vote totals are reported during presidential elections; voters cast their ballots at midnight.
Dixville offers exceptional hiking in Dixville Notch State Park, which spans 127 acres. Within the park is a scenic gorge and waterfalls on two mountain brooks. Hiking trails lead to Table Rock and nearby mountains. The park is also a great spot for picnicking.
Also located in Dixville is the Balsams Grand Resort, considered one of the premiere destinations in northern New Hampshire.
